My go to chip shop. Actually drive past three other chip shops to get my food here because the fish is usually cooked to order so it’s very fresh. The usual cook Ashley is great, always very friendly as are the girls who work behind the counter. It has a restaurant section where you can eat in if you want and even serves some alcohol. The owner Emir is really friendly and keeps the standards very high. He isnt afraid to spend money to ensure the quality is top notch, hence why they have won so many awards and been finalists in the chip shop of the year a number of years in a row!!

I’ve eaten a few times here. It’s got to be one of the best places in South Wales. First of all the owner Amir is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. All his staff are lovely too and well trained. I’ve had both cod and chips and hake and chips. I’ve eaten in a lot of fish and chip Restaurants but I have to say this is one of the best not just in South Wales but in the entire UK. Hiks fish and chips are perfect. A choice of curry sauces. Good size portions. Tasty chips. Came here before and they were like cardboard, came back after a couple of months and they were much better. Went again a couple times after and the chips stayed consistent. Curry sauce hit and miss. Sometimes the mix is very strong and sometimes a bit meh. Nice atmosphere, everyone seems happy which is always welcoming. 5 stars because the large chips is a very large portion and I am a family of 4 on my own 😄.

Food was good overall, but I was a bit disappointed with the curry sauce. I expected it to come in a separate pot, but instead it was poured directly onto the food and had sunk to the bottom by the time I opened it. There also seemed to be very little sauce compared to what I’d normally expect. Aside from that, the quality was nice and I’d still order again, just hoping the sauce is served separately next time.
