Chatterly Whitfield is honestly such a great pub. It’s got a really nice vibe as soon as you walk in—super relaxed and just a good place to hang out, whether you’re with mates or just popping in for a drink. The best part though was definitely the service. The staff were all really friendly and easygoing, not fake-nice or anything, just genuinely helpful. I was incredibly disappointed with the Steak Sub with Edam and Emmental. Given that it’s priced the same as a rump steak, I expected real quality. Instead, it was one of the poorest meals I’ve had in a long time. The Issues: The "Cheese": It wasn't melted cheese; it was a flavorless, "Smash-style" packet mix sauce with the texture of bitty goo. The Steak: Incredibly chewy. I actually had to remove it from my mouth with a napkin. It felt microwaved and certainly hadn't been rested. It was more like a dog’s chew toy than a meal.
