When it comes to trying to pick a favorite staff member it’s impossible. I wave to the cook every chance I get because he always delivers. Locals like to call the Ankeny location “the fancy Perkins” but after eating here for almost every day in the past 6 months they’re wrong. Ames location pays attention to every detail. Serves the most delicious food with the most warm service. I cannot pick a favorite and trust me I know them all. But if I must pick a favorite it’s Andre, because he has as many siblings as I do!!!! This is a 2nd attempt to eat at this business. The first one was a later evening try and I left vowing to never return. When I arrived, even though there were only about 6 -8 tables / booths seated, I was told by a male with limited English that I wouldn't be able to sit for about 45 minutes. Not good! My re-try went far better. I visited at breakfast time and even though it was decently busy I was seated right away. My server was Theresa who did a great job with the customer service. Ordered a build-your-own omelet (I recommend it). The portion size and budget friendly pricing made this a gre

Food was good and came out right quick. Waitress was polite but not overly welcoming. I guess Im just used to a warmer welcome. We frequently visit other locations in another city so maybe Ames is just a little more formal. Place was clean, food was good and prices were good. Id go back again and would recommend. Great place if you are an introvert that would rather not chat with the staff.
