This morning my family had Mother’s Day brunch at Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis. It was fantastic, from service to plate. The staff were welcoming, our waitress Elise was very sweet, and the chef and management even checked in on us. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Appetizer (new dish on menu), chicken jalapeño soup and crab benedict. The food and displays were outstanding. In addition to the complimentary mimosas, we even got seeds to plant as a parting gift. It’s been awhile since a restaurant has experience exceeded my expectations, but this one did. Mother’s Day made!

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing due to the level of service we received from our waiter, Jack. After being seated, we waited approximately 20 minutes without any acknowledgment. When we approached another staff member to ask about the delay, we were told that our waiter had not noticed us. Having reserved seats for a rock concert (by Wishbone Ash, a favorite of mine from 1970 in England, and still going strong), I opted to take my wife to dinner at the Tavern next door, beforehand. The discount package included $5 parking, 10% off our meals, and an optional beer after the show (though we needed to leave and did not take advantage.) We found the vintage pub to be modernized but true to its character, filling two adjacent buildin

Overall, Rams Head is a nice place, good service and atmosphere. Good kids menu, prices are not bad. I had the Bavarian pretzel appetizer - skip that one! Just microwaved frozen sticks, total fail! Even the mustard isn't mustard, more like a vinaigrette salad dressing. Soup was hearty, rich crab flavor. Fried fish was good, tacos were good. Crab cakes were good. Is just remove the pretzel appetizer completely, IMO
