Really weird experience today! Been there twice so far. Loved the bagels, my coworkers did too since I got extra for them. I just wanted to get something healthy since I missed my breakfast- so I ordered multigrain toast and two scrambled eggs. They asked if I wanted butter, and I really didn't, so I said just add it on the side instead. P.S. I thought the toast came with just a bit of butter; it must, right, it's a Waffle House standard and must be applicable everywhere else by law. I’m visiting for the weekend and needed a bagel place to revive myself after a late night. I can’t remember having a more pleasant customer service experience anywhere! Everyone was so incredibly nice and patient while I looked over the menu, and although they were busy, they answered my questions and I received my order quickly! I also don’t ever expect a breakfast or a bagel place to have good coffee, but my iced coffee is delicious. Next time I’m in town, I will definitely return!

First, a message to the owners of Ideal Bagel — Please start serving/carrying Choco Pronto’s coffee! You have such a fantastic local coffee roaster literally a few streets behind your store! Please support local Athens coffee roasters. Second, Ideal Bagel is really good! My personal favorite is the salt bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese. The bagels were just about ok; not that great. The balance of flavors of the house fish bagel I ordered was off. But it was still edible. On the whole, if you’re really craving a bagel and would be happy with anything that is an approximation, this is good. Else, I don’t see much reason to go here.
