My family came up from Chicago and as you know Chicago has amazing food. We were a bit hesitant to try but this place Exceeded my expectations! EVERYTHING WE ORDERED was GREAT! Egg rolls were delicious, the Lo Mein was flavorful and you could taste the charred of the Wok, which if you know good Chinese food you know this is a plus! I would recommend this place to ANYONE looking for an abundance of flavor and friendly staff!!!

The service was good, but the food was not. It tasted old, and the rice had an unpleasant smell. I can tell they’re using old ingredients because the smell is like spoiled meat and expired spices. I would not recommend and never go back!!

My fiancée and I have been ordering from Hunan for a few months since we’ve been living in Bloomington and haven’t had any complaints until recently. I ordered “chicken chow mein” from their menu which describes it as “a MIX of chicken, noodles and veggies”. We received an entree made up of 90% cooked celery, probably 1/8 of a cup of noodles and almost no chicken at all. See photo for reference. When we called to ask for a refund or some type of compensation for our next order, the staff member told us “that’s just how they make it” and refused to do anything. An authentic Chinese restaurant that we enjoy very much. The prices are very reasonable. The dishes are quite large. We ordered a thick rice noodle dish (beef chow fun) and a curry and spicy thin noodle dish. Plenty for two people.
