My family tried Shang Hai River for the first time and we loved it! I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken with steamed white rice and it was cooked perfectly! I would have liked some vegetables/pineapple in with the chicken but I understand restaurants are trying to keep costs low. My sons each had General Zso chicken and Pineapple Chicken both with fried rice and they really enjoyed their meals. When we would go to other restaurants they would complain that their chicken was difficult to chew but not with their meals at Shang Hai, the chicken was cooked perfectly. UPDATE 2025: New & Much Larger Restaurant Now! They've got room for those who love to eat in & enjoy savoring their delish food made fresh from the kitchen. Make sure you get some of those steamed dumplings that come with a duck sauce & a spicy horseradish mustard sauce that is so, so good. They have a wonderful oolong tea & I love that as well. By far, the best fried rice in the county! Every dish I’ve had has been delicious. From Walnut Chicken, Chicken Egg Foo Young to Mu Shu Pork & Pepper Steak it’s all amazing.!!!!! Overall tasty place. Went for dinner and got the beef fried udon. Super tasty teriyaki sauce with the beef and noodle. Would recommend for take out or dine in. Service could improve but overall a decent spot.
