Truly an exceptional dining experience. No frills, just excellent food and friendly service. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and fried. I don't like cole slaw anywhere else but I'll eat a bucket of it here. Gus's is always a treat!

Someone should warn people, their "hook", claim to game is that their batter is spicy hot. I have a tongue condition where I can't take hot foods at all so it was quite a shock. Nowhere did I see "Home of Spicy Fried Chicken". Th side were good but extremely scanty portions!! Maybe one large spoon of greens and one of beans. Just a few bites with a normal spoon. We felt gypped. And for desert: pecan pie which was so dry is fell apart into crumbly balls. Never saw that before! Overall it was tasty but I don't think I'm going back and wouldn't recommend it for those reasons. The waitress was top

I first had Gus's in Austin. Service is great here but the size of the chicken is really small, and it just doesn't taste the same as the Austin one. Nice cheap $4 Bud and Bud Light tho

Last week I went to a restaurant right in front of this chicken joint and thought to myself " I gotta try it!" The item that made me walk in the door, was the Green Fried Tomatoes, i had the tenders with Mac n' cheese and BBQ beans. My wife had the wing a-la-carte and the potato salad! The crisp on the chicken was awesome, and i can't identify what was in the batter but it was awesome. They have a counter you can watch games from and plenty of tables. Our waitress, as well as the rest of the staff that served us, was very helpful and friendly. Definitely give it a go!
