I might get some heat for saying this but since I moved to San Jose from the Oakland in 2017 I haven't found a restaurant that tasted authentic. Then in 2026 I found Maya's Cafe! Their food is delicious so good I came back the next day. I live 12 miles away and it's definitely worth the drive!

One of the BEST Honduran restaurants I’ve been to in the Bay Area. As a Honduran, born and raised, the baleadas tasted just like home. My husband ordered the yuca con chicharrón and said it was the best he’s had in the Bay Area. Staff was super friendly, we are definitely coming back for more!
