My husband had the chicken tamales and said that they were seasoned really well.l, even the rice had great flavor. I had the vegan enchilada and it was SO flavorful. Highly recommend! And the salsa was great! Everything had so much flavor and just the right amount of spice. Also had the tables identified guacamole and it was a very generous serving. The staff were super friendly!

Overall an okay experience the food was okay service was okay atmosphere below average... tablecloths are picnic tablecloths plasticky worn out... definitely visible in my video. This is not the kind of place you need a reservation.. but be warned that if you don't have a reservation and they don't like the way your party looks they might turn you away.. other Tucsonans I talked with also indicated this is an issue.

Let's start with the food because, wow! I have been disappointed with a lot of the Mexican restaurants that I used to love since deciding to be a vegetarian. This was my first time at El Charro, however, and I was optimistic by the number of vegetarian options on the menu. I had the vegenchiladas, which are made with chickpea chorizo. I loved them so much. The perfect flavor. The service was just as impressive. There wasn't a long wait for our drinks or food and we never ran out of chips and salsa. This was me and my buddies first real meal after being at a music festival for 4 days straight.. the cheese dip was absolutely incredible. The complimentary salsa is a slapper as well.. the heat builds as you go. I had the surf and turf fajitas. Well worth it and delicious. One of my boys was absolutely buzzing off a nice dose of M and still mopped his birria enchilada. I think the servers name was Jayden. He was pretty cool too. 10/10 spot. Would recommend.
