I like the Zoltar machine… but it is probably the only reason that we would come back. Before today, the last time I was here was about five years ago and I remember the food being decent and well-priced. That memory did not align with the experience we had today. We came for lunchtime and ordered the onion rings, tenderloin, and Rachel without cheese. The onion rings came out first and we were a surprised by how few you got for $9. This iconic Eastside eatery has been serving their devoted customers for 70+ years! I am speaking of the Starlight Room, just off of First Ave behind another historic landmark, the Dairy Queen. If you have driven along this stretch of First Ave, you have no doubt seen their sign advertising this spot as the “Home of the Superburger”! We chose a quiet Monday afternoon for our visit, with a few couples at tables and a handful of regulars at the bar in attendance.
