Bruna Dota Carvalho★★★★★We were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try Restaurant Constance because they are highly rated farm to table restaurant. The restaurant is tiny and it makes it all feel very cozy. Because of its size, the staff is able to pay close attention to you and provide higher service quality; it felt really intimate and paired with the food, we had everything we were hoping for. We were greeted upon arrival and got a Happy Anniversary card signed the entire staff on our table, it was a nice touch! We tried every mocktail in the menu, two when we first arrived and then two flights of their samplers for every other flavor. The drinks were flavorful, some more sweet than others, but overall good for mocktails. We tried almost everything in the menu: the Ahi Tuna Sashimi and Kombu Cured Hamachi were the highlights of the appetizers. We also had the Whipped Spice Feta and it was very flavorful but the bread as a bit too doughy for us. The Osso Bucco Raviolo was surprisingly good; I was no
Alyce Kravitz★★★★The wine was good. The prosciutto and burrata app was delicious, though I wish it came with bread to soak up the pesto and cheese. We shared two entrees- the salmon with an Asian onion broth, and short ribs with a leek potato puree. The salmon was one of the best dishes we’ve had in Charlotte. The fish was like butter and the broth and veggies were the perfect accompaniment. The short ribs were fine. My husband said- you make this at home. Mine isn’t quite as tender, but it wasn’t a stand out. We got the pineapple upside down cake and wished we’d gotten the strawberry profiterole instead. The server who told us about the desserts didn’t mention a special one we heard our server telling the table nearby about. He also emphasized how good the profiterole was, but at that point we’d already ordered the cake. Oh well. Now we know for next time!
Keith Cotter★★★★★Everything about this restaurant exhibited excellence, from the extremely attentive and kind wait staff (who started our meal with a history of the restaurant and catered to our dirty plate and drink needs seemingly instantly), to the immaculate and intimate vibes and atmosphere (clean farm house chic meets well-volumed classic rock music), to the creative and delicious (and I cannot stress enough DELICIOUS) menu items. It is abundantly clear that everyone working at Restaurant Constance cares deeply about making every aspect as perfect as possible. My fiancee and I have been to a variety of Michelin star restaurants and this deserves a spot up there with the best of them. Must-haves include the cornbread waffles, kale salad (best I’ve ever had, and I eat one almost daily), shrimp and grits (best I’ve ever had), and chocolate miso tart (tastes like a Twix in cake form). We will definitely be returning!
Peggy Crane★★★★★I’m not sure what to say about Restaurant Constance that hasn’t been said before, but if you want to know if it lives up to the hype? It certainly does. The service was great- not forgetting anything, even if you thought they might have. The food was outstanding. They were playing a video on the back wall of some of the farms and suppliers that they use, which was very interesting- particularly seeing the honey production and the oyster harvesting. My favorite was the chocolate miso tart! So, if you go- make sure you save room for dessert!!!
Kung Fu. Pickle★★★★★We celebrated my husband’s 45th birthday at Restaurant Constance, and right away it felt like we’d picked the right place. When we got to our table, there was a birthday card already waiting for him, signed by the staff, which was such a simple but really thoughtful touch. Everyone we talked to was genuinely friendly, and pretty much everyone who walked by made a point to tell him happy birthday. Our server was great, super knowledgeable and clearly proud of what they do there. The menu had just changed, but he walked us through it like he’d been serving it forever. He talked through each dish, shared little bits of feedback they’d gotten so far, and gave us some background on the restaurant itself. Hearing how they work with local farms, how often the menu changes, and how committed they are to actual farm to table cooking made the whole experience feel even more personal. It wasn’t a speech or anything, just him talking about a place he clearly believes in, and it added a lot to the
Lily Crandall★★★★★Great meal! I had the burrata and the salmon. It was excellent! The flavor pairings were amazing. I also had the chocolate tarte I would probably order wine instead of a mocktail. The mocktail serving was incredibly small. I would understand if it was a whiskey, but considering there is no alcohol, not filling the glass halfway even with ice is a little odd for $13
George Wear★★★★★Restraint Constance is a true 5/5 experience very worth the value. Phenomenal food that is very well thought through incorporating local flavors and inspirations. Every dish was an act on a stage the environment was well designed to meet the casually refined experience. This is the perfect spot for a get together or date. Great food without the unnecessary melodrama of black tie fin dining. Restaurant constance is a must try
MugenFA5★★★★★Went for a late Valentines day dinner last Wednesday. Showed up 30 minutes early, we were worried about checking in that early. Front of house was pleasant and polite. We were seated less then 10 minutes later. Offered a drink menu, we wanted wine. However me and the wife have no idea what to order. Their In-house wine specialist suggested a great Rose. Our server was prompt, thanked us for dinning with them. Informed us on Wednesday they have a 3 course special (starter, main, dessert) which was reasonably priced. Recomended the Momos and Fried Okra and pork belly salad. OMG One of the best salads I have ever had. Sounds heavy but it was not. Braised short Rib on Orzo and Cajun Shrimp and Grits for the mains. Both done beautifully. I cannot remember what the dessert was called but what a way to end. If you need a fusion of a chill environment and a higher end eating experience, this is your place. We will be back.
