Joyce was an amazing server! She had a loud table of 12 women who had been drinking at the winery all day and she did not mind our energy at all! All our food came reasonable time. I loved my food although none of us were big fans of the corn bread it was pretty dry everything else was good I had the blackened catfish with Brussels and Mac and cheese One of my friends had the trout and said it was good

We stumbled into Maya while wandering around Charlottesville with absolutely no plan, which is apparently the best way to find great restaurants. The place is covered in art. Not “a few paintings on the wall” art. Art everywhere. Even the bathroom stalls are curated. At one point I wasn’t sure whether I was having dinner or being admitted into a gallery. We had such a great time at Maya. It was my first time ever and was thrilled with the quality of food and staff. Al was kind to help us with our reservation. Had the pork chop. It was overcooked, a little dry. The sauce was a form of jelly, which had not all melted on the warm pork chop. This is our 3rd time eating there. I agree with other reviewers. The food is okay. However our server was great. Very informative and helpful. We are in the bar…. Nothing notable.
