This place is really solid! We didn’t love everything we got, but we know what to get when we come back. The portion sizes were great for the price. Staff didn’t interact with us at all and we heard a couple swear words from them, but no problems with them otherwise. Very limited seating as well. I love Hawaiian food though and was happy with what I got so I’ll be coming back.

Got the Dragon Bowl with spicy garlic green beans, Asian slaw, edamame and Hawaiian mac. The green beans are seasoned real well and the Sriracha mayo has a good kick to it without being overly spicy. When I checked my order they forgot the Hawaiian mac, but they gave it to me on the side which worked out better anyway. Only thing I would of liked was there to be some type of rice vinegar or seasoning on the white rice, but overall it was a healthy, convenient lunch option. Place is quite small on the inside with only 10 seats so if you come during a rush there will likely be no seats available

Ordered food and it was completely burnt. Chef didn’t give a you know what and should be fired. How do you overcook the food and have the audacity to give this to someone. I do not recommend giving your time and money here as they clearly do not care about quality.

Japanese/Hawaiian is an underrated combination, and I think Mochiko does a great job balancing the two cuisines. I enjoyed the Hawaiian side slightly more, but the tempura and rice were outstanding as well. Decent value for the area, caters to the customer base well (sells chicken and rice for the UVA gym bros), and all around a great option. Service is not outstanding, especially for pickup orders, but overall I would highly recommend.
