We had such a great experience celebrating my son’s birthday at Flat Top! From the moment we arrived, everything went smoothly — we didn’t have to wait at all, which was a huge plus. Our server, Geno, really made the visit special. He was friendly, attentive, and always right on point with everything we needed. It’s clear he cares about giving great service, and it definitely made our celebration even better. The food was delicious as always, and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect place for a birthday meal. My son had an awesome time, and that’s what mattered most to me.

After a long day of urban hiking in the chilly city, a warm environment and hot food sounded amazing. After cruising down the Chicago theater area I think I smelled the restaurant before I saw it. You can watch from the window as chefs prepare hibachi style dishes for the patrons. I was immediately sold. Walked in and was sat within moments, and was served just as quickly. If you're downtown, or playing tourists like I was, this is a great way to refuel up and hit the streets again.

Group work outing with about 15 of us. Initially we were refused service as we requested to pay individually, but a colleague was able to convince the restaurant to accommodate. And mind you some of us already ordered ahead time. Food took awhile to come out. A colleague and I both ordered the Santa Clara noodles, which we didn’t know is served cold. My mango chunks were ice frozen! We sent one back so they could stir fry to warm it up, and the dish came back cold. Also they used lots of RAW onions to make the plate look fuller. This happened before when I ordered a hot noodle dish with broth.

The place was great. Our server Lucas was fantastic and the food was good. Just one minor thing, I wished they cleaned up the space more often around the food area.
