Delicious! My first time at Tacos Tonaya was many years ago when I was a freshman at Chico State. I remember going with my roommate and new friends and we ordered food to go and I remember the first thing I ever ordered were nachos (super yummy!). The following years, during my time as an undergrad, I continued to order Tacos Tonaya. I went so often that I became a regular and formed a friendship with the owners, specially the mom. Really a good place to eat. They gave me a complimentary piece of flan that was delicious. The dining area was clean and the food looked delicious. I always see people eating here Everytime I pass by once a week probably. 5 stars I highly recommend.

I'm giving 3 stars because it was my first time there and part of my experience might not represent a normal experience. My wife and I were super excited to get Birria Taco's. We chose Tacos Tonya #2 because of its great reviews claiming the best birria in Chico. We ordered the tacos and some taquito's to share. It was 100° outside and in the restaurant it was likely around 90° there were 3 customers ahead of us and it took roughly 30 minutes to get our food. As you can see in the first pics, everything looked decent, however the first bite proved otherwise. There was no discernable flavor!
