Nice Italian restaurant that could use some improvement on service. It’s a very popular spot and has nice ambiance, so still got very popular on a Sunday night. Ordered the restaurant week menu. I asked the steak to be cooked as medium rare, the inside was fine but the outside of steak tasted really bitter. I tried couple pieces and they all tasted bitter unfortunately. My guess is the grill temperature was too high. The waitress was so kind and offered me to send it back or try another dish. So I opted it for something else. We ordered the pappardelle con coda alla vaccinara and the bolognese lasagna. Both were really good. The portions were on the smaller side but still filling. Free bread was fresh and delicious. Would recommend if in the Uptown area

Bar Roma is a hit! Came here for a date night and had a great time in paroozing the menu while enjoying the atmosphere. They had specials for Valentine’s Day too! I ended up choosing the lasagna with bolognese sauce (you can choose meat or plain red) and it was a hit. A perfect portion size I finished it without any help haha. The chocolate lava cake was decadent and thick and melted on the spoon. Amazing! Staff seemed nice and were quick and attentive and it was a happening place!

The pasta dishes were just okay - not very flavorful or well plated or anywhere close to authentic. Tables are way too congested. I was never even offered to get another drink and service was lackluster - understandably so, since they packed the restaurant so tight. Didn't even feel like asking for the dessert menu. And what's the point of asking (online and and by the hostess) if it's a special occasion if the server is not even gonna wish or do anything special?!?
