I took my girlfriend to this café for breakfast as a surprise, and she absolutely loved it. From the moment you walk in, everything is beautifully decorated and perfectly aligned with the atmosphere they want to create: chic, elegant, and very cozy. Although the place was packed (Sunday in Spring), it was surprising to see how fast the order was taken and the food came out. The Croque Maman sandwich has good and deep flavor and has a good contrast with the Ham. My wife had the Shortcake Pancakes and she loved them! They look just a little dried though (my guess is the kind of flour). The drip coffee is good and pairs great with cream and brown sugar. Finally, I asked for a Kouign warmed up. I have to give a huge shout-out to Maman for completely upgrading my day—not once, but twice. I walked in thinking I’d just grab a quick coffee, and instead I left with two new obsessions, all thanks to the sweetest and most genuinely helpful barista, Halle. First, she recommended the new Martha Stewart lemon bun, and I swear it’s my new favorite thing on the planet. It’s bright, citrusy, perfectly soft, and has that homemade-but-somehow-better vibe Martha is known for. Halle described it as “a must-try,” and she was absolutely right. I’m already plotting my next trip back just for that bun.

I was on a long walking tour of Central Park and decided to walk over to this MAMAN on Columbus Ave for lunch. It was extremely busy as it was Saturday so I had to stand in line for 15-20 minutes just to order. I just ordered the banana walnut bread and almond croissant along with a decaf Americano. All very good. There were amply seats inside but all were full. I was able to find a seat in the small outside covered area. Very pleasant.
