If you had told me years ago that I’d find authentic Cajun food in Huntington, West Virginia, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But Gumbo Stop Cafe absolutely delivers. I’ve eaten here multiple times, and every single visit has been fantastic. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the food is consistently outstanding. This place really brings the Louisiana bayou style cooking to the north. Stopped in there and had some gumbo and jambalaya as well as their banana pudding. Let me tell you that I had zero complaint I was quite literally 100% satisfied. The food tasted amazing every bit of it. I will definitely be back. They had a good bit of service coming and going as well as pick up orders for food to be delivered. Take my dad to this cool spot occasionally (he lived in Louisiana once upon a time). Most recent visit was last week before an MU basketball game. They had a nice dinner crowd. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is cool and the food is really, really good. My favorite is the Shrimp Etouffee over rice - delicious. Highly recommend.

Completely shocked at being able to get authentic Cajun food in West Virginia. Absolutely wonderful!!! We had the crawfish bread app, gumbo, crawfish Étouffée, banana pudding, and Kentucky butter cake. Everything was so flavorful. Service was super friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the little cafe's atmosphere. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!
