I remember this place growing up as the old train station. This is actually the 1st time I've been back since it was renovated into its current condition. Very cool how the took the space and changre it up, but it still looks like the old train station. They were fairly busy on a Friday night and I found an empty spot at the large bar. It was full with families and couples having a good time. I ordered an ale and an IPA along with a burger while a read. I can't remember the name of the ale, but it was good. Smooth and malty. Second time at HopCat and it was just as good as the first . always nice when the food and service are consistent. We tried the Cowboy Burger, Rodeo Clown, Pickleback Chicken, Hangover Helper, and the Buffalo Mac. Honestly, everything was pretty good across the board and everyone left happy. Big shoutout to our waiter - super friendly and smiling the whole time. That kind of service makes such a difference. Also, the location near Western Michigan University is really convenient, and there’s plenty of parking here, which is a huge plus.

We used to come here much more often. The beer used to be cheaper and they had great tacos, specifically the vegan tacos. We were disappointed when they got rid of the tacos but kept coming back because they had a good selection of beer, and we loved the elote queso dip. We came back last week and still got our usual dip, along with the Cajun chicken pasta, and a couple beers. Everything was just ok. The portions of the pasta was kind of small.
