We finally tried Vestal and overall had a great experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was top notch, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely make reservations ahead of time — we didn’t and ended up sitting at the bar, which honestly worked out just fine for us. One thing to know before you go: if you’re looking for a super quiet, intimate dinner spot, this may not be it. Once the restaurant filled up, it did get pretty loud and was a little hard to have a conversation across the table. But overall, the food and experience absolutely made it worth it.

I was very excited to try vestal as I had heard great things. I’m not usually the kind of person to leave bad reviews but I’m honestly disappointed. Before I list the bad I would like to point out the good. I had no issue with the service I found our waitress attentive and positive, the atmosphere was fun and lively with a cool vibe that you can’t find many other places in Lafayette. The final good thing I can comment on was the steak which was cooked the temperature I ordered and had a nice crust. That however is where the good ends and the bad begins. The food was mid, I would not say it is the tastiest food I’ve ever had. The steak was really great, but the mac and cheese noodles were hard. Mallory was our waiter and she was not very attentive to our table. She walked right past our table every-time she went to check on her other parties. This was a very rude customer service experience and we expected great customer service at such a higher quality establishment, we were so disappointed.
