Service was great, friendly, fine. The issue is the pizza: totally not proper. We visited around 5 pm and the place was nearly empty. The margherita pizza didn't have fresh basil as listed. And the mushroom pizza was made with soggy, canned mushrooms, meh. The pizzas were so greasy (too much cheese) and undercooked. I did like the sesame seed crust, but not worth it otherwise.

No wait on a busy weekend which was our deciding factor in choosing to give our business to this small business. Pepperoni pizza was the best! Per slice was about $8.00 which is reasonable. Service was great and everyone was pleasant. Clean restrooms and plenty of seating space. I would definitely recommend this place for some great Chicago style pizza!

I went to Proper Pizza in Chicago with some friends, and we were all blown away. The first thing that stood out? The pizza slices are comic book sized! One slice is basically a whole meal, my entire group said it was delicious too! The atmosphere is really inviting too. There’s a front area that feels like a cozy family room, which made it perfect for hanging out and relaxing while we ate. Everyone in our group raved about the food.
