I’ve been coming to Savoy Kitchen for a long time, and it’s still one of my go-to spots in the area. We ordered a spread of classics during our last visit, and while the food is still generally good, a few things felt a bit different this time around. ​The Hainan Chicken Rice is what put them on the map. Overall Savoy Kitchen has good food and excellent service. The best food we had was the smoked duck pizza. The chicken rice was ok but not great as was the beef curry with tendons. Their egg rolls were more like Tex-Mex taquitos than an egg roll. Flavor was a little lacking, but overall tasted very good. The amount of food for the price was a bit small but we know how it is trying to survive in this environment so I can’t knock them too much. Overall, I recommend this restaurant for you to try some good Malaysian style food.

For most people in Alhambra are I would probably say this establishment is well known mostly for their Hainan Chicken. My friend went with the chicken/rice/salad combo which offered a healthy enough serving and was able to fill the plate. I chose the smoked duck pizza which was more fresh to order and had a generous amount of.cheese with enough duck and red onion. The crust was moist and not dry. I enjoyed my experience and would go again.

I kept hearing about people raving about this place as best Hainan Chicken place in SGV. That is saying a lot as SGV is Mecca of authentic Chinese food in SoCal if not USA. The dining area is a bit limited. There is seating indoors but barely 2 tables and counter seating. There is outdoor seating on the side however. Hainan chicken will not disappoint. It is just delicately prepared. Tender and flavorful.
