I stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident it stood out . They have a very large selection of delightful 😊 creative food and drink creations from wine to beer to white Russians 😋 😀 let me make this clear they sell cakes whole, sliced, lols talk about jack of all trades its giving mini bakery. This atmosphere is interesting very pleasant. There was no wait when I arrived. The soup barley ,with basket of bread promptly came. I appreciate this location 🙏 very relaxing and welcoming the butter pared with the bread is amazing. I won't mind a toasted bread option. Soup barley what can I say not really my favorite however pairs well with the crackers. I figured I try something new, for some reason I assumed it was beef soup. The drink was delicious and very pleasant on the eyes. Then came the main course photos below let's see it was not bad I added salt pepper butter and parm its missing something maybe a truffle oil and or garlic. The raceway diner is a comfortable decent place to stop & eat. I usually get French fries with my order. I won’t get their grilled cheese because it’s too much cheese. My husband enjoys it though. OJ is usually great. Servers are always nice except this one older waitress. No matter how many times she sees us, if she’s not waiting on us she never says hello. I don’t get it but when you see people like that you know it’s them. We used to eat here more often than we do now so that’s what I’m saying. I thought maybe that’s the way she is but I’ve seen her greet others that she wasn’t waiting on once or twice so that’s when I realized it’s her. Mostly everyone is nice there though besides her.

Great old fashion diner. Fantastic atmosphere inside. Huge desserts baked onsite. Fantastic friendly service. Very quick old style service from the kitchen all the orders came out quickly and hot. Only wish they were 24 hours like before the pandemic. Will definitely return for breakfast at 11 pm and dinner in the morning.

There were 3 of us haveing breakfast. When we came in, we were seated promptly. The server was very nice and attentive as was the hostess. We ordered our breakfasts: 2 eggs scrambled, bacon, home fries, toas 2 eggs over hard, home fries, toast Greek omelette, home fries, toast The food took a little bit of time to arrive, which wasn't a problem because the diner was a little busy. We understood and thought it was because it was due to the St Patrick's Day parade on McLean Avenue. When the food arrived, we were anxious to start eating as we were hungry. We were so disappointed because for the three of us, the eggs tasted "funny." We weren't sure about why, we just knew that they tasted off. We ate what we could and paid the bill leaving a nice tip for the server...after all, it wasn't his fault that the food left a lot to be desired. I wait for 6 minutes at the table finally la waitress came to ask me for drinks I told her I was ready to order she kind of said that there was a big table in the restaurant probably meaning it will take time to take my order a few minutes after a waiter took my order. Food was good!😊 Service (I felt like second place client) Sometimes people having long period of time working in the same place, (years) lost the sense of service or just Ofer good service to regulars guests losing focus of the whole dining room.
