We recently ate at First Watch in Oak Ridge, TN, and the food and service were spectacular. One of my biggest pet peeves is walking into an establishment and not being acknowledged. I’m not asking for much—just a simple greeting to let me know you know I’m there. Unfortunately, that seems to be a lost art these days. First Watch got it exactly right. As soon as we walked in, they welcomed us and let us know they would be with us in just a minute. It made a great first impression. The food came timely and tasted above average. I ordered the pancakes and bacon. The bacon was a bit on the salty side but the pancakes were fluffy. The service was quick. The atmosphere can be a bit loud since you are out in the open with little obstructions to block the noise.
