Genuinely my favorite food spot in all of Pittsburgh, but certainly needs treated as a rare treat unless you've got ample money to throw around. I've made it a point to try and go at least once a year. They import their fish from Japan, so everything is exceptional quality (unlike any other I’ve ever had) and the taste experiences are incredible. The toro, both salmon and traditional tuna, are both to die for. The lighting and general vibe of the place are honestly just as appealing as the food, as it's the sort of place that makes you feel like you're partaking in an experience rather than j

I’m in Pittsburg for a conference and had a beautiful stroll along Point State Park Fountain. Around 8ish after watching the sunset I wanted something on the lighter side and slightly elevated. Really interesting aesthetic/decor. I enjoyed the food, it was cool to try the variety of sushi tacos that they had. The sashimi platter was quite fresh. Really enjoyed the fortified house soy sauce. Quality of the food was impeccable. Really like the onigiri, that was probably my favorite dish, as well as the mushroom taco and miso soup.

Really great sushi fish in rare form for Pittsburgh, but it comes at a cost. — so it’s a bit of a tricky 5 star from me. Overall let’s say we’re rounding up from something 4+. The design of the restaurant is beautiful, with wooden ribs flowing across the ceiling and continued in the furniture. This creates an obvious nautical vibe that’s of course tasteful and high-end. Service is initially prompt but expect to wait a while for main courses to come out. You’ll be able to find classics and rare Japanese options that most places wouldn’t bother to import, but oh my does the cost reflect that!
