This place has been on my list for a long while so I was very excited to finally try it last month; it was so good I came back a second time (and it absolutely won’t be my last)! Although a bit more pricey than your neighborhood Filipino restaurant, I would argue that it is worth it. Each dish is a memory of home and they definitely do it justice. The service staff were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was lovely albeit cramped on the bottom floor. Came here for dinner with my family and it was delicious! They had all been there before and spoke highly of it, but it was my first time (and my first time having Filipino food). Meal: Dinner Day Visited: Tuesday Budget: $50 Closest Station: Columbia Heights Reservation Needed?: Maybe Payment: Cash; Credit Kid Friendly?: Yes First time eating Filipino food outside of the Philippines and this place didn’t disappoint. We loved the fried rice and pork belly. The papaya salad was a bit uninspired, but not bad. The converted row house is well decorated. The seats at our table need to be replaced (or repaired), but we enjoyed everything else, including the good service.

The garlic rice is worth the upgrade and the short rib adobo was rich and savory. It did have a strong vinegar taste so if that’s not your preferred flavor profile, I recommend other dishes. The ube pancakes and lechón were definitely the star. The pancakes were fluffy and perfect sweet. The lechón was crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. I am glad we tried the champurrado. Think rice crispy cerea
