Came in on a weeknight for dinner and they weren’t very busy, bust service was very good. They have a nice selection of Vietnamese fare, from banh mi to pho to wok’d entrées. They also have a very nice cocktail menu, the guava margarita is really good! Their wings were how we started and the fish sauce is a great flavor to choose. Lantern House & Bar is such a charming addition to Reston! The décor is beautiful—warm, modern, and inviting—making it the perfect date spot. It strikes that nice balance of feeling a little fancy but still totally comfortable. The restaurant isn’t huge, but there is enough space for small parties, so it works well for intimate gatherings too. Their drinks are super cute and genuinely delicious. As for the food, the Mussels Royale is an absolute must if you’re a mussel lover—the sauce is seriously to die for. We went to try Vietnamese fare at Lantern and it was an excellent meal. The quality matched the expectation. Appetizers: we got wings with garlic honey and fish soy soy both, garden rolls, lychee mojito. The sauces were good. I liked the garlic honey better. But the fish soy wasn't 'fishy' in case folks are worried. I would like the sauce to stick a bit more to the wings. But they were good. Mojito was good too.
