I’ve lived in the neighborhood for two years and have watched Honey Baked Bee really evolve into a hidden gem. They have some negative reviews from a year or more ago about their baked goods, but in my experience quality and variety of their bakery treats have improved significantly! I recently had their banana bread cinnamon roll (which stayed perfectly soft until the next day) and today’s Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding was a dream—warm, tender, and just the right amount of sweet. The shop itself has a wonderful 'eclectic and cozy' vibe with dark interior paint and cute ghost-themed decor that also incorporates inclusive values. It’s a much quieter, fly-under-the-radar alternative to some of the more crowded bakeries/cafes in Church Hill. The staff is always attentive, and while the hot chai latte leans more toward a sweet vanilla profile than a spicy one, it was delicious and hit the spot. It’s also perfectly located for a short walk over to Chimborazo Park. Very happy to see this bus

My partner and I hired Honey Baked Bee to make the cake for our wedding as well as provide an assortment of desserts. We could not be more pleased with the baked goods, every single one of our guests raved about them. Our cake was lemon lavender, a very unique and delicate flavor. We also ordered the honey chocolate chip cookies(my personal favorites), raspberry puffs, oreo brownies and coconut macaroons. Not a single item was half-assed, everything was absolutely scrumptious. I will be adding pictures once we receive them from our photographer!! Definitely recommend for a wedding or any event.

We stopped in on Mother's day to grab a coffee. Our coffees were delicious and the service was stellar. The shop was closing early for Mother's day and one of the owners offered a cinnamon roll to us to share... and good lord! I have to say it was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. 10/10 delicious! I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in town!

HBB is one of Church Hill's hidden gems. The decor and vibe is great - "spooky" with a side of hot pink, and the coffee and baked goods are amazing. But even better, it's a family-run spot, often with the WHOLE family present, that you just want to give business to. I've gotten a different coffee every time, often based off what the owner recommends, and have yet to be disappointed. And they have some VARIETY - think cookie butter, raspberry cream, etc. The pumpkin bread is good, the cinnamon rolls are better, but the coffee cake is the best coffee cake in Richmond. Beautiful location on Broad too, easy to incorporate on the weekend morning walk. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

My favorite coffee and bakery spot in Churchill! Im local and stopped by a few months ago and cannot stop coming back! Love their drinks from the basics (iced americano) to yummy refreshers that actually taste like real ingredients. The cookies are WOW! Not for you if you’re looking for something thin and crispy, but if you’re looking for something yummy and decedent and HUGE. This is your cookie to share with a friend. Love how chewy and gooey it is - and somehow just a lil crispy on the bottom?! Started to dabble in their other treats - pop tarts - both sweet savory are delicious! Baristas and owner are always super friendly and I hope the continue to grow (and expand their hours!!!!) this is a great spot!

We are staying across the street and stopped in this morning. We had a salted caramel iced latte, a brookie, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was great! The cinnamon roll was fabulous! Very friendly owner who also gave us some tips on local attractions. We enjoyed it so much we’re going back tomorrow! Don’t miss this quaint little coffee spot when in the Richmond area!

We were spending the night in the area and walked over for a morning coffee and maybe a pastry. It's a cute little shop right on the corner with a few indoor seats and a few outdoor seats. We ended up with a large coffee, which was good, and 2 fruit flavored refreshers, which were both good. I had to try the coffee cake, it tasted as good as it looked and was a huge piece. They had several other pastry and sweet options as well. The server was polite and quick with our drinks. If I was in the area I'd stop in again.

I live a few blocks away and am currently 37 weeks pregnant. Honey Baked Bee has been a huge source of treats for me when I’m craving something sweet! I love their mini chocolate chip cookies, they are the perfect size, and their new apple fritters are incredible if you can get one before they sell out. Coffee has not been a huge thing for me during pregnancy but I can’t wait to enjoy their Banana Bread Latte once I’m feeling up for it. Absolutely worth a trip!
