I recently had the pleasure of dining at Temari Japanese Café and wanted to share my thoughts. During my visit, I ordered the katsu curry, along with a side of takoyaki balls. I also enjoyed a refreshing side salad and some hot tea with my meal, and finished it off with some ichigo daifuku. To be honest, the food was good and enjoyable, though not entirely "out of this world." However, I highly recommend the takoyaki balls; they were definitely a highlight of the meal. The standout feature of my experience was the service, which was absolutely outstanding. It made for a very welcoming environm

Temari Cafe is such a hidden gem for Japanese food in Rockville! The menu offers a great variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. The katsu curry rice and omu rice were my favourites, flavorful, comforting, and very satisfying. Portions are generous, and the overall value is excellent. The restaurant itself isn’t very big, but that just adds to its cozy, low-key charm. It wasn’t too crowded when we visited, which made for a relaxed dining experience. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again!

I ordered the pork katsu curry and it was perfect. The katsu was crisped just right—golden and crunchy on the outside while still tender inside. The curry itself was thick and savory with a deep, comforting flavor, and it had plenty of pork pieces, which made it feel really filling. The rice balanced everything out perfectly and soaked up the sauce so well. The place was pretty busy, but we got lucky and found a table. It’s clearly popular, and after eating here, it makes sense why. Despite the crowd, the staff was fast and efficient with getting food out, which I really appreciated. Service

This is my go-to spot for cozy, authentic Japanese food. It does tend to get crowded due to its popularity even though the restaurant itself is not too big. You can tell they have quality food from the amount of Japanese customers that dine in. I particularly liked their gyudon. It’s made with simple ingredients and doesn’t have any strong, bold flavors. Having tried multiple Japanese restaurants, I’d say their omurice is the best in the DMV area. It is seasoned well, without overpowering the rice and egg.
