We stopped in for lunch at Hillcrest Tavern and had a fantastic experience. We started with the pretzels and beer cheese, which were delicious. I had the Knocker cheeseburger with fries, and my wife ordered the fish and chips. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was great, and the service was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

We were looking for somewhere we had never been and wasn't a "fast food chain". Started searching Google in the area. Found Hillcrest Tavern. We were extremely happy with everything. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but worth it. The portions were great. The food was hot and tasted great. The waitress was friendly. She even helped make my decision. Here is a picture of my daughter's meal. She had the spicy chipotle burger. Said it was great too. If you are ever in that area, give it a try.

Stopped by Hillcrest Tavern for lunch and absolutely loved it. The hot chicken sandwich was outstanding — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and worth coming back for alone. The service was friendly and attentive, the lunch crowd was fun and lively, and the space itself has a relaxed, cool vintage feel that makes you want to linger. Such a great addition to Frankfort Avenue and the Louisville food scene overall. We’ll definitely be back.
