A friend invited me to Sushi Edomata for a special celebration, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable sushi experiences I’ve had in California. There was already a line when we arrived, which honestly made sense once we started eating. The quality of the fish was exceptional, and every piece was prepared with so much precision and care. Nothing felt overly complicated or designed just for appearance. The focus was clearly on the freshness of the ingredients, the temperature and texture of the rice, and bringing out the natural flavor of each piece. I’ve tried a lot of Japanese re

Ok this was a truly last minute unexpected experience. My manager had recommended the location and had not provided me the context of the experience I was about to partake. I did the omakase here and was prepared for a delicious dinner. My first role was very citrusy and I was worried this was not going to be a great experience but every next role was my favorite. I had a delicious Spanish Mackerel and Uni for the first time. Overall it was a great experience but when that last roll arrived and I had their Toro I was unprepared for the flavor I was about to taste. That hands down is perhaps

A classic spot for San Mateo natives and sushi lovers alike! We got their omakase and it was stellar. One of the most unique things we’ve had was their sardine nigiri. It was a nice salty delicate fish that I haven’t had before. Their hokkaido uni was also very fresh and clean! We brought our own sake in and they were able to open it for us for a fair corkage fee. Their toro was cut a little unevenly but it was still a very generous portion that was delicious. The omakase also came with wagyu they topped with truffle that was a great finisher. Their desserts were also amazing. We almost got o

You will need a reservation. Definitely worth the expense. Had the omakase, grilled fish collar, and grilled mackerel. Omakase was ~$80 and included eight pieces, was excellent. They also let you substitute fish. I swapped out the uni for another piece of Otoro. Grilled fish collar and grilled mackerel were also excellent. You are given a choice of fish collar if available, chose the salmon. Both are good, mackerel with side of rice is slightly better.
