Got some chores done today, picked up a new cooler to hold me over until I replace the fridge, and did a little price shopping. While I was out, I got hungry and stopped by a place in Shawnee called Blind Box Barbecue. Let me tell you — the brisket was legit. Easy to chew (even without teeth), just fell apart. The Sucker Punch BBQ sauce is sweet and really good, but honestly the meat stands on its own. The mac & cheese was super cheesy (and they use shells instead of elbows, which actually works better), and yeah… I treated myself to a slice of cheesecake too. Spent about $30, but honestly

When you think of Kansas City, you think Bar B Que. Many bar b que spots have tried to be the best, but very few make it to the top of the list. I just found this spot and I am very picky about my bar b que especially the sides and the sauces. This spot is now #1 on my bar n que list! Wow! Blind Box BBQ has a warm, fun, and genuinely friendly atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warmest hello, seated quickly, and given a tour of their favorite menu items. It was our first visit, and they made it memorable from the start. We followed their recommendations and were blown away—delicious burnt ends, brisket, creamy corn, beans, and mac & cheese. Every bite hit. The bartender was charming and incredibly talented—hands down the best infused cocktail we’ve had in a long time. We’ll absolutely be back and will be bringing friends. We’d rank Blind Box

Very cool place! The BBQ was amazing folks! Sheri was a great waitress, high energy and goes above and beyond!! The bbq beans were smoked to perfection!! The meat was all very moist! Sauces were great! Just no complaints at all here! My wife and I are both really full!
