We had a wonderful dinner at La Roux tonight, celebrating our wedding anniversary. I am happy to share this review. The restaurant is on historic Commercial Street. The building and restaurant have an unusual layout with multiple levels, comfortable and beautiful with a lively and lovely decor. It is Louisiana and cajun cuisine, with a variety for all palates. We had reservations in the underground Phenix Vault dining room, amazing! It was built in 1885, converted into a unique dining space. La Roux Bistro is such a great experience. The food was excellent and truly gave authentic New Orleans flavors. We tried the Cajun cheese fries and eggplant caviar to start, then had the red beans & rice and shrimp & grits for our entrées — everything was flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. The coconut cream mouseline dessert was the perfect finish. The drinks were also fantastic, especially the Magic Mushroom Daiquiri and the virgin Garden District Punch. Went for a late lunch so it was not so crowded but busy. Let me just say service was perfection. Appreciate Kensey as our host server he was awesome. Highly recommend the Blue Crab Beignets. Oh my word they were amazing. Food was hot and inviting when served and we found ourselves feeling comfortable not rushed during our meal.

La Roux Bistro on Commercial Street - Springfield Missouri has so much love and detail into every aspect. My buddy and foodie friend Joseph Gidman developed this concept amongst his other amazing eateries on this historic part of Springfield. From the moment you walk in you feel at home. The beautiful murals, the upbeat vibe upstairs to the middle level where you literally walk into the kitchen to the downstairs vault. There is history around every turn and no expense was spared on the vibe and decor. The food is very New Orleans meets C-Street and I am absolutely in love with the French Onion
