I'm in emphatic agreement with every 5 star sentiment and observation here. I was most surprised by the tender beef rice bowl. It was not dry, but very flavorful, tender and plentiful. 3 entrès (2 rice bowl, 1 okonomiyaki) and one side( 1 extra pork belly), could feed 4 grown adults. Definitley will be back.

A new place for me, maybe new digs for this business but a very old structure that has the diner look and vibe. The menu is mostly Japanese/Korean but that and the decor is where Asian stops. The rest has a very old American vibe. While alot of painting and touch-ups have taken place, I see dust of ancient times in bathroom corners and the wear and tear of by gone days on the floor. The vibe at Chanko was effortlessly cool but still a cozy and welcoming diner! I was blown away at the portion sizes and the flavors. The Japanese Curry was warm, spicy, and layered well over the Chicken Katsu and Pork Belly Okonomiyaki - both of which were beyond incredible.

My boyfriend took me here and he got the pork belly and rice and I got the katsu chicken with veggie curry and it was really good. We tried a couple of their drinks and enjoyed them and ordered some to go. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is immaculate 10/10
