My 3-year-old son and I visited this location in Alton, IL on 6/28. While checking out, I was having a conversation with the cashier, Lisa, and my toddler. She asked how old he was, and I told her that his birthday was coming up in a couple of weeks — that he was currently 3 and would be turning 4. Lisa then said, “if he makes it that long.” I asked her to repeat herself because I was shocked by the comment, and she repeated it while smiling and laughing, saying, “if he lives that long.” I told her that comment was not funny and that she should not say something like that about a child. I was in the area for a wedding and decided to swing in here for some snacks for my hotel. Store is very nice overall. Has similar aisle configurations to other Schnucks stores I have been in. Produce section looked very well maintained and produce looked fresh. Cashier and bagger were friendly and provided excellent customer service. They had plenty of lanes open too for checkout which was nice. Did not have to wait in line at all. The store seemed to be well stocked of all items. That you would normally find here.
