Great hidden gem of Guelph! Perfect if you’re vegetarian/vegan or have sensitivities to the allium family. Super nice owners and great food. They serve a traditional buddhist cuisine called ‘jain’ I went 3 times last week after discovering them (currently have to take Neeve from Wellington and then turn on Surrey to get there due to the construction) 100% recommend Zen Gardens

Order takeout last night, and we will definitely be back again! We were visiting Guelph from Ottawa and were so happy to find out that Guelph has a veggie Chinese restaurant! Seems to be all vegan with the exception of cheesecake. The vegan chicken balls were really good, I've never seen them at any other vegan restaurant before! We also tried the wonton soup, chow mein, beef and brocolli, and a curry, everything was great! Portions were large as well.

Vegan or not, you MUST give this place a try. The food is absolutely delicious, truly a "Mom's home cooking" vibe. Veggie Curry Samosas: flavourful, sweet, filled with potatos and spice. Flaky crispy shell. Soy chicken balls: crispy shell, tasty "chicken" that's seasoned well on the outside. Ginger Soy Chicken Fried Rice: so tasty! Flavours remind me of my childhood. The soy chicken texture is surprisingly palatable. While obviously not chicken, it's still very tasty and provides the chewy feedback of meat. Much better than yves fake meat products in my opinion.
