Visited Kingston for the weekend from Toronto. Ordered 4 items - Escargots, French onion soup, lamb shuck, and a pasta. All of them tasted really good, the lamb was quite amazing, was perfectly booked (medium rare). Soup was good as well. Escargots were alright (could have been better if its more flavorful). The only small complaint i had was that...the lamb and pasta were not served hot. it was warm..but not hot hot. but that might just be my preference. Overall, the experience was good.

We found Black Dog Tavern by chance while walking around downtown Kingston — and were pleasantly surprised! The interior looks like a little museum: elegant, spotless, and beautifully designed. We were seated almost immediately and even offered complimentary Prosecco — such a nice touch! The food was excellent (especially the French toast), and the service was fast, friendly, and professional. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable noise level — perfect for a relaxed brunch. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
