Even though we did not have a reservation (and the place was nearly full), the owner graciously arranged a nice table for 2. Our dinners, from a small focused menu, were fresh, flavorful, thoughtfully presented, and of course...delicious. Paired with a nice bottle of chardonnay simply added to a delightful evening. Highly recommend having dinner at this gem. You will not be disappointed. Reservations recommended.
Rong Mao★★★★A cute, rustic little French restaurant in the middle of a small square next to the old St Peter’s cathedral in Avignon’s old town, only a few minutes’ walk from the Pope’s Palace. Service was very friendly. The food was Excellent. We had the L'Épicerie plate, which was a surprisingly filling salad with various little dishes to sample, and the steak with potato gratin and vegetables, both very good. The cheesecake dessert was artfully plated and also very good. Overall a great place to eat when visiting Avignon.
