I eat at Ratskeller once a year and can't get enough of this place. For the German challenged amongst us, "Ratskeller" refers to a bar/restaurant beneath the "Rathaus", which is city hall. You descend into this one to find yourself in a grand stone cellar with magnificent arches overhead -- one of the most unique and striking locations I've ever been to. From there, the drinks are good, the food delicious, and the prices quite reasonable. I've interacted with over a dozen waiters here over the years and they've all been great. I'm sure they didn't totally love us speaking English to them, but

I try to be grateful with every meal. Could. Not. The beef tendon sinews white tendrils got stuck hopelessly with the first raw beefy bite. GROSS.. It was a Lovecraftian horror in my mouth. Pulling them out took too long. Gagging. Yuck! I wasn't even going to post, but the waiter was like, "that's your opinion" when I explained my rude choking. Dude, choking is not an opinion.
