We’ve had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Liberty Offenburg twice now (seven years apart) and somehow, it was even better the second time. What makes this place truly special is its history. The hotel is set within a beautifully restored 19th-century prison, originally built in the 1840s and used until 2009, before being transformed into a luxury boutique hotel. Such a beautiful location! Hotel Liberty was a prison until 2012, and the transformation into a hotel and restaurant is absolutely stunning. I was genuinely impressed by the ambiance and how thoughtfully the space was reimagined. The kitchen is excellent—the food was truly outstanding. My only small suggestion would be a bit more focus on regional offerings to really highlight the area, but it didn't take away from the overall wonderful experience. Thank you for a great stay!

What a gem! We discovered this hotel a bit by accident for an overnight stay on a trip back home. Everything was perfect, the staff, the setting, the room and the food. The restaurant is worth a visit on its own. We had the 5-course meal and it was a treat. Our server was amazing, professional and casual at the same time, really elevating the whole experience. The chef being informed there was a gluten allergy in our party came personally to check up on us to make sure everything was ok.

For me and my partner this was the 2nd time, again, outstanding experience.
