We spent one night here while biking around the Netherlands enjoying the tulips. It is a wonderful place and everyone working there is extremely friendly. We had the little room off the private courtyard in the back because we had bikes. It was super quiet and had 3 beds in 2 rooms so tons of room for two of us. Definitely eat dinner and breakfast here. The cheese soup for dinner was delicious and the breakfast was well worth the 12 euros. She kept coming with more plates! Bread, eggs, cheese, yogurt and fresh granola, cinnamon french toast and even a fresh strawberry smoothie. Best breakfast

Adorable little apartment in central city Alkmaar! Very clean and impeccably decorated. You are in middle of the city near several bars so we did hear some folks being loud overnight but earplugs did the trick.

On a Friday afternoon, i booked two nights here as a walk-in, and the owner gave me a low-season discount. Unfortunately the noise from the pedestrian road right in front of my window was absolutely unbearable. Drunks screaming and yelling until 4 am and onwards, doors smashing, the whole house shaking. Granted: when making my booking, the owner warned me of noise and offered earplugs, but i couldn’t sleep properly despite using them.
