Main reason for the low rating is the service… We started with someone great, then a blonde with attitude took over. From the start attitude, and didn’t take kindly to for minor requests ie “chicken sandwich plain, with no sauce”, didn’t happen, ask for napkins and utensils twice, didn’t happen and then received napkins… Five of us, get four napkins.. Meat was truly undercooked! If you don’t want business from tourists then post it on the window, we can find another welcome!

Great food, drinks and service. The sashimi was so fresh, I went back the next day for more. The bread with miso butter was great. The truffle parm fries and ravioli were delicious. There’s live music and/or a dj on some weekends as well. Great vibes all day long. AND a fantastic espresso martini, my favorite.

As a new local in Haarlem we asked some other locals where to eat. At the end of our afternoon we had a spreadsheet hahaha. We were hopping bars and beers, a local advised us to keep on drinking at venster. We’ve got surprised by the cuisine this restaurant delivered. Even the chef Bas came to our table to explain the best wine and spice experience about the local oysters. After our dinner an dj came around, long story short an wonderful night happend. The interior decor is tropical with urban touches, and the terrace is very cozy. The food is tasty, but in my opinion, the Padrón peppers were slightly undercooked. The rest was quite delicious, though the dishes are fairly simple. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
