Finally tried the burnt miso latte and it had me bitting my straw just to get through the bottom of my cup for the miso. Unfortunately, I was served a very cold adobo. Huhu. Halata na it was stored in the fridge before they served it. Although, the taste wasn't lacking. Nahiya na lang po ako ipainit ulit. 😅 The interracial side veggies looked different on ig too. Sana we were informed they were out of zucchini or cucumber? No dressing as well, just plain cherry tomatoes. The greek yogurt with the longganisa was a great pairing. As someone who doesn't buy instant noodles anymore, this was fun to have on the menu of a cafe. Very reminiscent of my college life! Haha Parking was not a hassle. Service was quick despite a full house cafe on a week day. Hopefully, they expand and have more seats!

I stopped by on a holiday around 10 AM without realizing it was exactly their opening time. I initially planned to get a quick takeaway order because I expected the place to get crowded, but I ended up staying longer than planned and I’m glad I did. Their long black coffee was excellent, and JP’s cooked adobo was absolutely spot on. Since I was the first customer of the day, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming, and the busking session that morning made the experience even more memorable. I also ordered a drink to go (Burnt Miso Latte - now I get it why this is one of the recommended drinks) and started drinking it while getting ready to leave. Overall, I genuinely loved the food, the coffee, and the whole vibe of the place. Definitely a stop I’d happily revisit.

As a certified ka-eme, I just had to check out Basta Cafe. We ordered JP’s Cooked Adobo for laps and their Brgy. Kamuning-exclusive Burnt Miso Latte for mamam. Jusko, ang sarap! I never thought adobo that literally melts in your mouth would pair so well with kimchi, but it just works. We also got the I’m On A Diet Nachos for sharing… pero parang ayoko mag-share kasi ang sarap. 😂 The hot honey corn was so good. Walang eme!! The cafe is on the smaller side, so it can feel a bit cramped, and swertihan sa parking. But the vibes are solid, the food is worth it, and overall, ang saya at ang sarap sa Basta Cafe. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu! 💛

Finally got to visit Basta Café! Been wanting to visit as a ka-eme. Sooo parang pilgrimage ang naging atake kasi bawat corner need talaga picturan na para bang nasa museum ako. Eme! Enjoyed looking and admiring the space, vibes were chill and cool. Only got to try their drinks since we just had dinner. I had the ‘Mama Mo Pink’ fizzy drink and it was good and refreshing! So happy that we also got to sit on the iconic couch. Will definitely be back another time to try their food and other drinks.

As a certified ka-EME, matagal ko na talagang gustong bumisita sa Basta Café — and finally, I’m here ✨ Parang nasa set ako ng Ang Walang Kwentang Channel the whole time. Feeling ko ready na ako ma-interview nina Tonet Jadaone and JP Habac! The food and drinks were okay—nothing too standout, but still enjoyable. I’d recommend trying their Burnt Miso Latte, The Best Pistachio Butter Oat Yet, Tonet’s Favorite Corned Beef, and JP’s Cooked Adobo. Medyo crowded lang when we visited, and it’s not a huge space, so manage expectations when it comes to seating and comfort. I also found it a bit pricey, but overall, it was still a good experience. Good vibes, good concept—babalik pa rin to try more of their menu.

Estetik with nice vibes place pero hindi sulit yun serving. Example: 290 pesos for Adobo rice topping 2 small pieces of meat, 2 patatas bigger than the meat, 2 or 3 pieces taba/balat and 1 egg. It was super flavorful, definitely adobo done right, but the portioning was depressing for the price 😆 I didn't even take a picture kasi nalungkot lang ako when it arrived. Didnt get to try the drinks since a bit pricy din and nagdoubt na ko from the adobo experience, so nag Bo's na lang ako afterwards for coffee.

I went on a Friday at lunchtime. Plenty of space available. Service was fast enough as I was the only one waiting to be served by at least four service staff on duty. As such, I cannot confirm other reviewers' experience with longer serving times especially during the café's peak hours. I bought adobo, dirty ice cream affogato, and iced burnt miso latte as well as a tote bag. The food I ate met expectations as advertised but they were more expensive than other cafe's or resto's signature offerings for their taste and volume. Of the three products I ate, I would buy the affogato again; it's not sweet and you really taste the espresso with the dirty ice cream. Will I travel from Laguna just dine in at Basta Café again? Probably not, but I would come back with friends if they listen to Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast too.
