Let’s be honest—Salma Cone’s staff have absolutely no idea how to deal with customers. When they speak to you, it feels as if they’re the ones paying you for the food, not the other way around. And if you dare to share your opinion, they all respond with sarcasm, showing zero interest in what you say. Why? Because they don’t care about losing a customer—after all, the whole city goes there simply because it’s one of the oldest restaurants. Ironically, some of these rude employees were probably born after the restaurant opened, yet they’re the ones who might eventually drive it into decline. Now, credit where it’s due: their milkshake is excellent—10/10, even though the price is steep at 8,000 shillings. The chicken shawarma is decent the price 6000 shillings , I’d give it a 7/10. But the ice cream? That’s where they completely fail. I paid 5,000 shillings, and from the outside it looked full, but once you dig in, you find an empty gap in the middle. The food was good. The mishkaki was great, shawarma was okay. Also had the soft-serve ice cream the taste was okay. The place was packed, and service did not take as long as i initially anticipated it would. The biggest challenge here is sitting. They have both indoor and a make shift out door sitting. Indoor was small so naturally was full. Outdoor the sitting is right on the street. Overall an okay experience. Only reason i would go back is for the bakuli mishkakis.

Had a great experience with Amir the owner/manager going out of his way to make our meal sooo amazing. We ordered the ice coffee milkshake which was rich and creamy, very cold and refreshing. Then the crispy garlic prawns meal. We ordered it with fries but Amir kindly added the stir fried rice complimentary. Jim’s our waiter was efficient and served us very well. All round great experience. We would recommend Salma Cone for the food and the ice-cream/milkshakes and the fruit juices looked amazing as well! Welcome done to your team for great and hospitable 5-star service.
