Walking into The Ship is an adventure. We stepped through the door and were immediately confronted by what can only be described as the Great Wall of Sweet Boxes. I honestly had to do a double-take and check Google Maps to make sure we hadn't accidentally walked into the back of a confectionery warehouse or a recycling centre. I was half-expecting a fork-lift truck to show us to our table. ​However, once you navigate the plastic tub alps, it’s a lovely surprise. Popped in here for a drink on a recent trip to Barry as a group of 9 (6 adults and 3 children). Its a big pub with plenty of space. A typical Hungry Horse pub with a good menu. Good choice of beers. The decor and furnishings need some attention though. Every seat at our table was ripped. The kids wanted a snack so we ordered some nachos, a Mac and cheese and a sundae. The kids all enjoyed the food and we didnt wait long for it to come out. Overall, a good pub in Barry with good food choices but just needs some updating and new furniture.

It was quiet but cosy! I came down with my little boy for quick dinner, and it was out within minutes of ordering. Hot and fresh, we both had the burgers which was lovely. Sam was my server and she was amazing and kind and very prompt witb any requests, Simon was the chef and i cannot fault the food, it was perfect and fast. I come here regularly anyway but will continue doing so as i haven't been let down yet!

Absolutely horrendous! I had ordered the classic beef lasagna which I thought we be quite nice but I was quite surprised when the food arrived in around 4 minutes and as soon as I had taken a bite into the lasagna it was obvious that it had been microwaved not to mention the texture was completely off and had inconsistent lumps in it. The quality of the lasagne was astonishing for the price of £9.45 as it was extremely overpriced for a microwaved meal.Would not recommend coming here as you will be served cheap microwaved food!
