A brilliant, local pub! As others have said, it's a great place to have a (cheap!) pint (3-4 pound) and chat with locals. Went there on my first day in Birmingham, and then went back today. Will probably go again tomorrow 😄 Super-friendly staff (call the barmaid "Whitney", she'll love it) and locals who are tons of fun to chat with! Really made my stay in Birmingham complete because of the traditional atmosphere and patrons!

A comely place where you get to speak with the locals. One of the few classical town pubs left in Brum, which would be a real shame if it were to be knocked down. Since the last time I visited, in 1967, it has changed much, with pool tables, TV, comfortable and pleasing furniture, interesting clientele ,good bar staff. It has Guinness, and I recommend the cheese and onion sandwich.
