I had a very unpleasant experience at Hoo Hing in Milton Keynes today. After paying, I checked my receipt and noticed that a bag of pea shoots had been charged at a higher price than the shelf label. When I raised this at the counter, staff insisted that the label was incorrect and that the price on their computer was the one we had to pay. Another member of staff checked the shelf and refunded us the 33p difference. We thought the matter had been resolved, but a male staff member or manager wearing glasses then spoke to us in a very abrupt and confrontational manner. He said “we’ll let it g

This is a lovely independent shop with an incredible range of food items and fresh produce. The quality is impressive and it's all very well merchandised. You will find supermarket staples here but also lots of World Foods you won't find in the mainstream supermarkets. Prices are reasonable too, particularly considering the quality of the products

It’s a warehouse style Asian supermarket with a bias towards Chinese foods and ingredients. There is a decent vegetable section that’s among the best in terms of variety and selection. I just wish HH would up their games on Japanese and Korean food offerings. Still HH is a safe bet in MK.

MK has many choices for Oriental supermarkets, and the range of food is more or less the same everywhere. Hoo Sing is okay, but there is no real shopping experience there. The cashier, a lady with short hair and glasses was grumpy and rude. She treats every customer like a thief. Why even bother going? Management, please look into your hiring and employee training.
