We really enjoyed my visit to Micro Roastery. It’s a cozy and welcoming place that gives you the perfect atmosphere to sit down, focus, and get some work done—definitely laptop-friendly. Everything was great, from the ambiance to the service. The only small downside was that the coffee was served a bit too warm for our taste. Aside from that minor detail, it was a lovely experience and I’d happily come back again.

This used to be my favourite coffee place in Canterbury for a long time but has since lost its charm. I chatted with my son about this afterwards and I think he "hit the nail on the head" after being across the road for sandwiches. He mentioned the friendly, welcoming attention that the guy at the sandwich place was giving him. Chatting away, effortlessly being himself- he made the experience easy, warm, memorable, not a bother at all. The staff at the microroastery were not unpleasant in the least, and the coffee was good. We felt they as if they were completing a chore by pouring our coffee.

Cute little cafe with lots of drinks options and it looked very cosy inside with plenty of seating. We opted for an iced tea and a lemonade and both were delicious and very refreshing in the heat. Could be a bit more organised though as it took a while to make the drinks and then there was a lot of going back and forth for straws and lids (there were none at the front). Especially as the entrance is small and it makes it very awkward to have to keep shuffling past people for takeaway orders! Didn’t order any food but the cakes and pastries looked lovely and were decent prices.

First visit and LOVE this place. The coffee is fantastic (perfect for purists) and the vibe and ambience is fantastic. Friendly staff and a wonderful find. Perfect for meeting friends but would happily work from here too.
