Very disappointed with our experience at Mama Masala during the Easter long weekend in Derry. Although the food was ready quickly for collection, the quality and taste were extremely poor. The veg biryani was more like a basic pulao and lacked the rich flavour and aroma you would expect. The curry dishes were also very disappointing — it felt like the spices and masala had just been added on top rather than properly cooked through, so the flavours never came together. Overall, the food had no authenticity and did not meet expectations at all. Sadly, we would not return.

Came here on recommendation from the Holiday Inn. We were not disappointed. I had the chicken labrabdor, my wife the chicken tikka masala and we shared a sag aloo, naan and rice. Both excellent, substantial, tasty meals. Great view over the river.

Best Indian food in Northern Ireland! We were pleasantly surprised by the flavours, quantity and experience here, would definitely come back for the chicken lababdar curry a 10/10! They were also halal friendly which was an added bonus for us.

This restaurant sits diagonal from the peace bridge and just aside the River Foyle and presents a gorgeous backdrop as the sun goes down. It is matched by strong presentations of food. Our highlights were the poori chicken chili and the mixed-grill appetizer, among the most flavorful varieties we've had in any restaurant. The complementary pappadum had amazing chutneys and we kept the onion for the rest of our meal. I'd buy that in a store. Our curry main dishes were good.
